Indonesia’s Official Reserve at U$128.80 Billion in August 2017

Jakarta | 8th September 2017

Indonesia’s official reserve asset position stood at $128.80 billion as of end-August 2017, higher than the end of July 2017 level registered at $127.80 billion.

The reserve asset position at the end-August 2017 adequately covered 8.9 months of imports or 8.6 months of imports and servicing of government external debt repayments, well above the international standards of reserve adequacy at 3 months of imports.

Bank Indonesia considers the official reserve assets are able to strengthen the resilience of the external sector and maintain the sustainability of Indonesian economic growth.
