Indonesia Trade Surplus at $11.83 Billion in 2017

Jakarta | 15th January 2018

Indonesia’s trade balance in 2017 records an increasing surplus compared to the previous year. It increases to $11.83 billion, despite the monthly deficit in December 2017 of $0.27 billion.

Bank Indonesia considers that the trade balance performance remains positive to support the current transaction performance. Going forward, trade balance performance is expected to improve in line with the global economic growth and high global commodity prices. Such development will support the improving prospect of economic growth and current transaction performance.
