Indonesia Official Reserves at $131.98 Billion in January 2018

Jakarta | 7th February 2018

Indonesia’s official reserve assets position stood at $131.98 billion as at end-January 2018, higher than the end of December 2017 level at $130.2 billion.

The reserve asset position at the end-January 2018 adequately covered 8.5 months of imports or 8.2 months of imports and servicing of government external debt repayments, well above the international standard of reserve adequacy of 3 months of imports.

Bank Indonesia considers the official reserve assets are able to buttress external sector resilience and maintain the sustainability of Indonesian economic growth.
